Boxing
Olson’s Gym offers Amateur and Pro Boxing Programs for all levels of training. We focus on everything from fundamentals and footwork to cardio and core strength, no two classes are the same. Safety is priority number one, and all safety and workout gear is available for purchase at the gym.
Olson’s is a member of the BC Amateur Boxing Association.
Ages 7-12
Children learn basic skills such as punching, footwork and bagwork, while benefiting from cardio and core strength exercises. This fun program includes partner drills, sparring in a safe and controlled environment, and is a great cross training opportunity for other sports children may participate in.
After learning the basics, students 12 years of age may choose to move on to our Superior Boxing Program to advance their skills.
**At 10 years of age, students have the opportunity to become competitive following coach evaluation for preparedness.
Ages 13+
A combination of various martial arts techniques are packed into this high-energy workout which focuses 90% on active exercise, and 10% on technical specifics. Great for an independent full-body workout, or for cross-training with other highly active sports. Beginner level punches, kicks, and Muay Thai styles are introduced through various combinations. This class is directed to teens and adults looking for an intensive, total-body workout.
After learning the basics, students who wish to improve their skills and/or explore the possibility of boxing competitively may transfer to our technique-focused Superior Boxing Program.
*Hand wraps, skipping rope, and boxing gloves are required following registration.
Take your boxing skills to the next level in our Superior Boxing Program. Whether you are interested in advancing your skills for personal fitness, or wish to become competitive in the sport, this program will help you achieve those goals. This is a more intense workout than our basic program, and students have the option of sparring in the ring with registered coaches and other students to test their skills, or train for competition.
All competitive boxers are registered with the Canadian Amateur Boxing Association (CABA).

This program offers students of all skill levels the opportunity to learn and combine various martial arts kicks (such as roundhouse, side kick and spinning back kick) with the punching and footwork of boxing.
Kickboxing is a total body workout, increasing cardio stamina, strength, flexibility and your overall fitness level.

Our Women's Cardio Boxing Program is a great physical and cardio workout!
Each well-rounded training session includes basic boxing skills – punching, movement on the floor and bagwork – as well as various Muay Thai techniques. A variety of kick sets, speed drills and core strength excersises ensure students enjoy a complete workout every class.
* Hand wraps are recommended and can be purchased at the gym.
